Lug Ripper
Proudly made in the USA
You strip ’em,
we rip ’em.
The Lug Ripper kit drills out stripped and rounded lug nuts, so the wheel comes off and you get back on the road.
Everything you need in one red case
Hardened guides sized to your lug nut, the Gen 5 drill bit, a locking collar clamp and a hex key, packed in a case that lives in your truck or toolbox.
-
Guides for common lug sizes, including 17mm, 19mm and 21mm
-
Gen 5 drill bit, sharpenable with a Drill Doctor or similar
-
Locking collar clamp holds the guide square to the nut
-
Hex key and a fitted case for storage
Threads gone. Nut off.
Lug Ripper cuts the threads out of the lug nut and the stud. Once the nut breaks free, replace both and put the wheel back on.
How it works
-
Fit the guide
Pick the guide that matches your lug nut and slide it on with the slots open top and bottom. Lock it with the collar clamp.
-
Mark your depth
Measure the stud and nut, then put blue tape on the bit at half the distance you need to drill.
-
Drill slow, keep it cool
Break through the head, then drop to low speed with light pressure. Keep water on the shaft inside the guide.
-
Pull the nut, replace the stud
Try a socket at any point. Once the nut breaks free, remove the wheel and replace the nut and stud.
Rules for our tools
Go slow
Use a ½" two-speed battery drill. Air and corded drills spin too fast for this bit.
Keep it cool
If the bit smokes, stop and cool the bit and guide with water before you carry on.
Lug nuts only
Not for European lug bolts or lug locks. Always wear safety glasses.
